On 12 July 2022, Guo Guangchang, Chairman of Fosun International, and his delegation met Lu Shaye, Chinese Ambassador to France, at the Chinese Embassy in France in Paris. He Degang, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in France, and Fosun global partners, Li Haifeng, Henri Giscard d'Estaing and others attended the meeting.

Guo Guangchang reported Fosun's 30 years of development and its businesses in France to Ambassador Lu Shaye. Ambassador Lu said that China and France have close exchanges and cooperation and firmly support globalized Chinese companies such as Fosun to develop businesses in France. Ambassador Lu hopes that Fosun, as one of the bridges of cultural, economic and commercial exchanges between China and France, will continue to promote further cooperation. He also encouraged Fosun to continue to assist the promotion and development of iconic brands such as Club Med and Lanvin in the Chinese market and the world.

Guo Guangchang said that Fosun hopes to carry out more cooperation with French companies, while giving full play to its globalization capabilities, to further support the development of Fosun’s member companies in France, especially in the fields of pharmaceuticals, tourism, fashion, trade and commerce, and other fields, so as to foster win-win cooperation between China and France.

During Guo Guangchang’s stay in Paris, he also attended the Choose France business summit on 11 July, during which he communicated with Alexis Kohler, Secretary General of the Elysee Palace and many multinational entrepreneurs, and participated in events such as the summit forum and the dinner reception hosted by the French President. Fosun global partners, Alex Gong, Li Haifeng, Henri Giscard d'Estaing, Joann Cheng and others attended the events.

Choose France is a business summit organized by the French government, which aims to demonstrate France's investment advantages to large international companies and attract overseas companies to conduct business in France. More than 180 international company executives from around the world attended the summit. This is the fifth time that France has hosted the summit, and the second time that Fosun has participated in the event.

Guo Guangchang, Chairman of Fosun International, is on a business trip overseas, focusing on the development of Fosun’s overseas businesses. He would like to learn more about the operation of Fosun’s overseas enterprises and communicate with local employees and teams to promote the steady development of Fosun’s overseas businesses and projects. During his business trip in France, Guo Guangchang visited Fosun's member companies Club Med, Lanvin, PAREF and other companies to learn more about the company’s operations, conducted in-depth exchanges with the local French team on business operations, and held discussions with many Fosun's business partners in France to reaffirm the determination and direction to expand cooperation in various fields.

Fosun’s businesses in France include Club Med, a global holiday resort chain group, Lanvin, the oldest French haute couture house, St. Hubert, a leader in the French health food industry with a history of 118 years, PAREF, an asset management platform, and Tridem Pharma, a French pharmaceutical distributor.

Club Med is a classic example of Sino-French economic and trade cooperation. Since Fosun became Club Med's strategic partner in 2010, Fosun has deeply empowered Club Med through its global resource integration capabilities, assisting it to become a global leading brand of “premium all-inclusive” resorts. Club Med plans to open 17 new resorts worldwide by the end of 2024, half of which will be in China. On 16 April, it was recorded that the Club Med’s bookings for the second half of the year has surpassed the same period in the pre-pandemic year of 2019. Lanvin, which is the flagship brand of the Lanvin Group, a global fashion and luxury group under Fosun, has performed outstandingly in 2021 with an increase of 108% in global sales and an increase of 415% in e-commerce sales.
