On 24 March 2022, “Invest to end TB. Save lives”, the striking slogan lit up on the screen of 28 Liberty in Manhattan, New York City. On that day, the slogan was also featured on many other global landmarks of Fosun, including the Bund Financial Center in Shanghai, YOSUN Wuhan International Fashion Center, Fosun International Center Chongqing, Forte Woli Plaza in Taizhou. On the 27th World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, Fosun Foundation partnered with Fosun Hive to gather nearly 140 indoor and outdoor large screens in 5 places to call people’s attention to tuberculosis prevention and control, committed to build a “zero-TB” world for all mankind.

Over the years, Fosun has been adhering to the concept of “developing business for good”, leveraging its own industrial advantages to help fight and curb tuberculosis through various initiatives and actions. Shenyang Hongqi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Hongqi Pharmaceutical”), a member company of Fosun Pharma, has more than 30 years of experience in the research and development, production, sales and service of anti-tuberculosis drugs. In 2016, Hongqi Pharmaceutical, Fosun Foundation, and Chinese Antituberculosis Association jointly launched the “Double Thousand” initiative to assist underprivileged tuberculosis patients. The project, which lasted for 5 years, accumulated more than RMB5 million relief funds, and benefited more than 5,300 underprivileged tuberculosis patients across the country. In 2021, the three parties joined hands again to launch the “Double Health Initiative” to carry out public health education and professional health training for 5 consecutive years so as to support talent construction, promote the popularization of science, and actively lead the innovation and development of tuberculosis and related disciplines.

In 2017, under the guidance of the former National Health Commission's Poverty Alleviation Office, Fosun Foundation, China Population Welfare Foundation and China Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Program jointly launched the “Rural Doctors Health Poverty Alleviation Program”. Rural doctors, who play a key role in primary healthcare, are also an important force in curbing tuberculosis. In the future, Fosun Foundation will also leverage the Rural Doctor Program, take Guizhou Province as the pilot project, and link resources of all parties to provide special trainings for rural doctors, thereby improving grassroots tuberculosis prevention and control capabilities, promoting the popularization of relevant knowledge, and mobilizing all sectors of society to pay attention and devote to tuberculosis prevention and control, endeavoring to end tuberculosis.
