Fosun Foundation Joins with Lincoln Center to
On September 16, the second Lincoln Center Global Exchange was held in New York. Since its participation last year, Fosun Foundation joined again as a premier partner. This year’s theme is ‘Art for Good’.
Liang Xinjun, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fosun International delivered a keynote speech together with Tatsuo Miyajima, a renowned Japnanese contemporary artist, who has created the "Counter Sky Garden" for Fosun's Art&Cultural Center.
Below are a few excerpts from the key note speeches delivered during the conference. Katherine Farley, Chairman, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts “In the United States, the Carlyle Group has always committed itself to the arts, charity, and public welfare. In China, there is also one such a company, Fosun. During its course of globalization, Fosun has actively involved itself in efforts to integrate the arts and business.” David Rubenstein, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, The Carlyle Group “When I was a kid, my Mom took me to Piano class because she thought my last name is Rubenstein and I could become a famous pianist. But at the very first class, I realized that it is Artur Rubinstein who has the gift, not me. When I established the Carlyle Group, I discovered that while not everyone has the opportunity to become an artist, everyone has the opportunity to support the arts.” Liang Xinjun, Vice Chairman and CEO, Fosun International “Fosun’s original home is in Shanghai, but our second home is here in New York. Both cities are capitals of commerce and capitals of culture. It is our experience that employees are loyal to companies that support their communities and local culture. So around the world, Fosun invests in local arts and artists. The arts are good business strategy. They are also good business culture.” |
