The number of passenger trips served by the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou railway reached nearly 2 million in the first half of 2022 and reached more than 5 million for the full year.
Since the beginning of this year, as the willingness of people to travel continues to increase, the passenger flow has ushered in rapid growth. It is extremely difficult to get a train ticket with good departure time and short duration. In less than half a year, the number of passenger trips served by the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou railway reached more than 5 million, which is 2.5 times that of the same period last year and the same as last year. In particular, the passenger flow for business travel and tourism has remained high. During the May Day holiday this year, it registered a total of more than 450,000 passenger trips, of which the number of passenger trips hit a record high of nearly 100,000 on 1 May.
The 266.9-kilometer rail line, with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour and nine stops, namely Hangzhou East Railway Station, Shaoxing North Railway Station, Shangyu South Railway Station, Shengzhou North Railway Station, Shengzhou Xinchang Railway Station, Tiantai Mountain Railway Station, Linhai Railway Station, Taizhou Railway Station, and Wenling Railway Station, links the cities of Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Taizhou.
The Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou railway, which passes through the Road of Tang Poetry in Eastern Zhejiang, is also known as the “Road of Poetry High-speed Railway”. Its launch ended the history of no rail service for Shengzhou, Xinchang and Tiantai, and opened up a new tourist route, which effectively accelerated the passenger flow, logistics and capital flow along the line, injecting new development vitality. In addition, the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou railway, as the Asian Games service line, is the fastest high-speed rail line to travel between host cities, namely Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Wenzhou. The Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou railway will make every effort to provide the best railway service for athletes and spectators during the Asian Games.
Fang Jianhong, CEO of Fosun Infrastructure Industry Development Group and Chairman of the Hangshaotai Railway Company (杭绍台铁路公司), said: "In view of the good development momentum at the moment, we are confident that the passenger flow will continue to rise. We also hope to further leverage the experience of the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou railway and continue to contribute to infrastructure investment and high-quality development."
